Mid Career Researchers (MCR)

Who is a Mid Career Researcher (MCR)?

A MCR is a member who is active in research (or would like to be), but has perhaps been around slightly too long to consider themselves as early career.

You might consider yourself to be an MCR if you are someone who is demonstrating independent research capabilities and leadership potential, but han't yet reached the most senior academic ranks.

We promote the idea that when a person is one of the more experienced people in the room, it is time to recognise that their roles and needs have changed and it is time to move on to a different room. This is particularly true for people who are starting to have managerial or supervisory roles.
